Attorneys


Camille K. Cook

Ms. Cook is a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a member of the California State Bar Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Council (INLAC), and an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is an expert in family immigration, waivers, deportation (removal) defense, consular processing, asylum and naturalization law. She has defended scores of people in Immigration Court and helped hundreds of people obtain U.S. residency and citizenship. She has extensive experience litigating immigration cases in the Federal Courts. She represented the named petitioner in Castro-Cortez v. INS,239 F. 3d 1097 (9th Cir 2001), an important case involving due process and reinstatement of removal.

A graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, she has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1988. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from San Diego State University. Ms. Cook is admitted in the United States District Court for the Eastern and Northern Districts of California, the Ninth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals and the Executive Office for Immigration Review, including all Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Having lived in Spain, Colombia and Honduras, Ms. Cook is fluent in Spanish. She has been a presenter at seminars for other attorneys and legal workers for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the Bay Area, the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and the Bar Association of San Francisco, among others. Ms. Cook has worked closely with the Mexican Consulate in Fresno and numerous non-profit organizations in community outreach and assisting immigrants throughout the Central Valley. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Centro La Familia Advocacy Services.

Ms Cook is often interviewed by the media and has been quoted by the San Francisco Chronicle, the Fresno Bee, the Associated Press, National Public Radio and the Business Journal, among others. She has appeared on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, Univision and Telemundo, and is a regular guest on Univision Fresno’s “Despierta Valle Central” with Lupita Lomeli.


Gregory Olson

Gregory Olson is a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. He has extensive experience in Immigration Court, getting asylum and cancellation of removal cases granted while also getting other cases terminated to the benefit of the client. He has handled a variety of types of cases at USCIS, including u visas, VAWA, adjustment of status, removal of conditions, acquired and derived citizenship, and naturalization. He has a depth of knowledge regarding waivers of inadmissibility and consular process for immigrant visas outside the United States. He has handled multiple appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and petitions for review to the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Olson joined Cook & Olson from San Joaquin College of Law, where he spent five years as a full-time faculty member and director of the New American Legal Clinic, training the next generation of immigration law attorneys. While teaching the students at the law school, Mr. Olson also represented nearly 1000 clients in their naturalization process at USCIS. Prior to joining the law school, Mr. Olson worked in civil litigation, assisting businesses and municipalities navigate the court process.

Mr. Olson graduated from the University of Utah with a major in Spanish and a minor in English Literature. He obtained his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville, Virginia. He learned Spanish living in Puerto Rico for two years, then refined his writing while at the U of U.

Mr. Olson has become recognized in the Central Valley for his regular appearances discussing immigration law on local media, including “Despierta Valle Central” and “Jueves de Inmigración” on Univision Fresno. Mr. Olson is committed to helping people achieve the American Dream. He knows that his experience and hard work ensure the opportunity for his clients to resolve their immigration issues and start living their own dream. When not working for his clients, Mr. Olson can be found hiking the Sierra Nevada, rollerblading the trails of Clovis, or enjoying time with his wife, children and step children. Mr. Olson is a member of the California Bar and is admitted to the Eastern and Northern Districts of California. Mr. Olson is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).


George Rios

George Rios joins Ms. Cook and Mr. Olson as an attorney at Cook & Olson after having spent the last 3 years working as a law clerk in the office. Mr. Rios graduated from the Golden Gate University School of Law as a member of the class of 2020 and became a member of the state bar in January of 2021. During his time at Golden Gate, Mr. Rios was a part of the GGU School of Law Immigration Clinic where he worked with U-Visa and Asylum clients in preparing and submitting their applications. Mr. Rios also received certificates in Public Interest Law and Litigation, in recognition of the rigorous coursework he completed related to these areas of law. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Rios completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine, where he received his B.A. in Criminology, Law, and Society.

Having been raised in a Hispanic home, Mr. Rios is a native Spanish speaker. As a son of immigrants who was born and raised in California’s Central Valley, Mr. Rios has a keen understanding of the obstacles that many immigrants face when dealing with the U.S. immigration system. Given these experiences, Mr. Rios is fully dedicated to fighting for his clients and their right to obtain some form of legal status. Mr. Rios has had success representing clients in adjustment of status interviews, naturalization interviews, and other processes before USCIS. Mr. Rios also has represented clients before ICE and has visited detained clients in an effort to do whatever he can to secure their release. Mr. Rios is currently a member of the California State Bar and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
